There are two more weeks of school left, it's a bitter sweet moment. I'm a senior studio art major, graduating this coming May. It always troubles me when people discourage my chosen major. I know and often hear about the starving artist statistic but I don't agree with that. In any field there is room for success and failure. I'm not so much worried about that stereotype and would like to show that it is false and Atlanta is a thriving city for the arts. Recently, there has been talk about cutting the arts out of high school which is troubling to the field and to me personally. I hope that every profession included in the arts can work towards making a more reputable name for itself so that kids and adults will know that they shouldn't be afraid to choose art as a career field or in my sense putting my passion over others opinions.

I am currently in Panama City Beach. It's beautiful. I'm always fascinated by how vast the ocean is. The landscape is inspiration for some artwork in the future. Lately I have been working on paintings dealing with the Easter bunny and it's relation to Easter... I've worked with this theme before, but now I am expanding on it more.
