Why me flash drive ??!!!
Well today tragedy struck in the digital aquarium, somehow as i was working on my specialty item my flash drive malfunctioned. It erased every file i had on it and now pops up as an unreadable device when i put it in. I was working on updating my blog and printing things out but now of course I cant. The rule is of course to back up files and i did that up until my self mailer, and had planned on backing up the files when i got home this evening. Just a post saying no more re branding updates for me until i figure out something... :(

Its ad time!!











I really enjoyed the clever kind of funny tone of the advertisements above. By both color and image alone the ads caught my attention. I want my ad to be funny/ witty, and use simple text to go along with it. I would probably use bold text and incorporate bakery goods like cakes and pies in a thoughtful yet funny way.

"Perfect ingredients, Simple preparation"
What they do??
Sandwiches, soups, working deli, but most known for desserts ( pies, wedding cakes, cookies and cakes)
Who is their competition??
Their competition is any place that makes homemade meals, and any bakery in the area.
Strengths as a brand??
As a brand they have an established identity and audience/ consumer. With every box they place a sticker containing their logo. Things withing the bakery, including recipes have remained the same for ten years. It is a family run business with a friendly atmosphere.They have "old fashioned goodies" that are supplied throughout the metro area and are all natural.
Problems??
Logo needs work, attention and pop.
Audience??
Age range-middle working class, middle age range to seniors, they can identify with the old fashioned quality. Mostly women or those with families.

Sweet Inspiration!
Some words that Iwould like to associate with my ideas for the new "look" and brand of Southern Sweets bakery are
- Fun/sweet
- Traditional/Old fashioned/ simple
- Homely/ Friendly
- Fresh/ Natural
- Pleasing
Color wise Im thinking of oranges, yellows, browns. reds, and possibly pinks. Though they lean more towards feminine colors, im a thinking of combining rusty almost hues of them with pastel/ lighter colors, to be read across the board sexually whetehr male or female. There audience is somewhat more of older women, middle aged women so either way the color choices should work out.

Decisions Decisions
I have chosen my independent company for GRD 3200 and am very happy with the choice. It is a place me and my father go, very friendly place, with a lot of room for my creativity. I choose it over the others simply because of that, its room for growth, fun and friendly atmosphere, and a place that i can identify with and also since i am a consumer there it makes it even better..... Drum roll please!!!!!!!!!! the winner is... Southern Sweets Bakery in Decatur :) YAY

So, I'm on my adventure of finding a "mom and pop" company to work on for GRD 3200. Has to be a good choice seeing as though were going to be working with it the whole semester!! Excited much, but thinking about which place to choose is the hardest....First step, I definitely want to do a restaurant... so far I have Southern sweets- a cake and dessert place..... Davidos 3.75 pizza.... Funnel cake emporium... and Mamma Nems- a soul food place. DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!
